L’Oreal has been in the game for years and it’s truly one of the MVPs when it comes to covering skin imperfections. I for one am one of those Pinays who doesn’t have a perfect skin, you know… the skin which comes with occasional breakouts with the evidentiary support of pimple scars. Let’s get started with the L’Oreal True Match Foundation Review!
Please be aware that if you have nothing to hide, then you do not need a foundation and you need to be examined in a science laboratory located in a desolate place somewhere in Iceland or wherever.
What foundation does is it evens out your skin tone, cover honking zits, and provides a good sunscreen (mostly).
In my 20+ years of existence (I’m not telling you my age), I’ve already tried different kinds of foundations from different brands ranging from local to international and from expensive to affordable and right down to dirt cheap which are available in the Philippines.
Mac, Estee Lauder, Mary Kay, Revlon, Maybelline, San-San, Ever Bilena, Nichido, Fashion 21, and etc., name it and I’ve tried it (Ay huwag pala hindi pala nila ako binabayaran haha).
The first time I’ve tried a True Match foundation from L’Oreal was way back in 2009. The cost of the product at that time was 700+ PHP. Ang swerte niyong mga bagets dahil mas mura na siya ngayon. I was looking for something more economical because I had a love affair with Studio Fix by Mac at that time (mostly kasi uso siya nung mga panahon na yan).
L’Oreal True Match Foundation Review
L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Classic Beige C5
What I love about the True Match line is the coverage and the feel on my face. Even if it covered a great amount of my skin imperfections, it still felt very light on my skin. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it doesn’t last very long but I’m fine with that because I only wear foundation when I’m out and it can last for up to 6 hours naman.
What I also didn’t like about it is that it didn’t come with a pump which in turn made me dispense more product than I needed; they made up with it with their new packaging though.
The two products I’m featuring in this L’Oreal True Match Foundation Review are both from the True Match line. The first one has “New” and “Super-Blendable Makeup” written on it. I’m not sure if they just repackaged it or if these 2 are completely different.
The one without the pump
The “New” and “Super-Blendable Makeup” one in Classic Beige C5 shade gave me full coverage. It concealed my eyebags, acne scars, and live zits to perfection. This product felt a little heavier on my face compared to the one with the pump (it’s still lightweight).
The Super-Blendable Makeup also has more longevity and I didn’t need to partner it with a concealer anymore. The bottle is also similar to the first one I bought from way back in 2009.
I got this one from the US and I’m not sure if it’s available in the Philippines because I didn’t see it in the stores when I got the new one (which I prefer more).
The one with the pump
L’Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation in F1 Rose Ivory
The one with the pump is my current favorite. The shade I got was in F1 Rose Ivory. What I like about it is the natural finish (parang natural na makinis lang ang eksena). I also like that it feels super light on my face and glides on easily cutting the time of the blending process. TIME IS GOLD (mema lang).
Pumps are very hygienic and cost-effective, you get to avoid the hassle from dispensing too much product out of the bottle (Calling out Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and that old ugly bottle from the True Match line).
Both products come with a sunscreen and I never experienced breakouts from using them. Affordable, effective and skin-friendly foundation = Win, win and WIN! This product line is definitely not one to miss if you’re looking for an affordable foundation makeup in the Philippines.
