My sister currently lives in Florida but she spent most of her life here in the Philippines. I was interested to know the changes with her dry skin care routine which resulted to this article.
Florida’s climate is a bit similar to Philippines’ but it’s much cooler. There were changes with her skin care routine albeit minor, hence, I deemed this helpful to Filipinas who are planning on traveling or moving to Florida.
She has dry skin with seborrheic dermatitis on her face like I do. Fortunately, unlike mine, her body’s skin type is normal.
Without further ado, let me share with you…
My Sister’s Dry Skin Care Routine
My sister and I
The similarity in our dry skin care routine is products that aren’t moisture-depleting. However, she doesn’t use a toner, whitening product, and exfoliant. Her approach towards skin care is way gentler than mine.
I guess it helps to have more caution because my curiosity garnered me nodules and pustules that I’m currently treating with isotretinoin. Sucks to be a beauty blogger because I have to try products to give an honest review but yeah… c’est la vie!
Enough rambling Amanda!
Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Available in Lazada BUY HERE
Buying from the links to Lazada from my website gains me a small commission at no additional charge to you. Thanks for supporting!
She uses Cetaphil as her cleanser. Cetaphil is a very gentle cleanser as it doesn’t damage the skin barrier and it also has an ingredient which acts as a humectant. A humectant works very well in humid places so she chose the right product.
I’ve been using it for years and I really like it as well. Currently, my dermatologist told me to stop using Cetaphil because it’s oil-based and will not work well alongside with the isotretinoin.
If you’re not dealing with acne and you’re just battling dry skin, give it a go.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Available in Lazada BUY HERE
My sister and her husband both use Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. I’ve been reading good reviews about it online and I’ve done a little research about it as well.
The star ingredient of the aquamarine jar is hyaluronic acid which we all know is one of the prime agents when it comes to dealing with dry skin.
She said that it’s not sticky when applied and it’s unscented. I’ve read that Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is alcohol-free and non-comedogenic which I think is something to check out if you have sensitive skin.
What would a dry skin care routine be without a lotion?
Since her body’s skin type is normal, she’s fortunate to use products that are heavily fragranced.
Her current body lotion is Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea. She loves the sweet smell and the moisture it delivers.
The only issue for her is that it stays sticky for the first 30 minutes after application. However, the feeling dies down to something subtle and nourishing all throughout the day.
Her go-to sunscreen is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 100+.
This sunscreen according to her is a joy to apply because it doesn’t deliver a sticky or tacky feeling.
She added that it’s like applying water and that you wouldn’t notice a difference after wearing it.
If you don’t like heavy-weight SPF products, try this one out.
Neutrogena Hand Cream Available in Lazada BUY HERE
Probably her favorite out of all the products in her dry skin care routine.
The Neutrogena Hand Cream Norwegian Formula.
How do I know that it’s her favorite?
It’s the only product that she described with more than 3 sentences lol.
She said that as a stay-at-home mom, her hands often get tested by the chemicals of cleaning products.
The cream makes her hands instantaneously feel softer which is what a good hand cream should do.
She describes the scent as “light” and that you’ll only need a pea-sized amount to quench your thirsty skin.
This post looks like a sponsored ad for Neutrogena but it’s not lol. My sister and I both use products from a brand that we trust because we have the loyalty gene.
If you enjoyed my sister’s dry skin care routine, kindly share it on your timeline.
