Skin lightening products are one of the most marketed products in our country. The range of products and procedures that you could check out are endless- whitening injectables, lotions and creams, skin bleaching, glutathione drips and whitening bar soaps are just a few of these.

If you are looking for whitening products that are cheap and effective- soaps are one of the easy options. This won’t hurt your pocket, and if you find a good brand, you’ll see results with continued use.

First Impression

A former colleague swears by using carrot soap. She used to have a dark skin tone. We all did not believe her until we saw her college photos. When I met Liza, her skin already looks fair and bright. I’m amused how she was able to attain that natural looking fair tone. You really can’t tell that she used to be morena before.

Her secret was using carrot soap. I did not get the exact brand she was using, but since then, I’ve been curious about how carrot soap works.

I got this organic carrot soap from the brand Light Skin. If you check out the locally available carrot based soap bars, you’d see that a lot of these come from small businesses.

This one retails for PHP 100. It comes in a white box with the a cute carrot shaped window.

My Experience

This carrot soap from Light Skin is very moisturizing and hydrating.

The soap bar lathers easily. However, the orange stain bothers me. It bleeds a lot when applied against the skin.

Scent is citrusy- not surprising as most products come off smelling like this.

Good value for money- you definitely get a lot of product for the price.

I’ve only used this for three weeks, and the whitening effect is not visible.

I’d recommend checking out kojic or papaya based whitening soaps for faster results.

Final Words

I had higher hopes for this product. I will try carrot soap again but this brand is not for me. Light Skin also offers a carrot whitening lotion- which has better reviews. You can check out their page here.
